THE RARE VENUES WEDDING NOTEBOOK
How to compare French wedding venue prices
Turn different starting prices into quotes you can compare.
Write one brief for every venue
Use the same guest count, preferred dates, number of nights and overnight requirements in each enquiry. Explain whether you want a ceremony, dinner, evening party and next-day gathering. Otherwise, two attractive headline prices may be describing different celebrations.
Separate the venue from the wedding
A starting figure may cover venue hire only, a stay with accommodation, or a package with some services. Copy the venue’s own package wording into your comparison. Put meals, drinks, staffing, furniture, cleaning and transport in separate columns until you know what is included.
Count the rooms that you actually need
Ask for a bedroom list and the cost of any compulsory room allocation. Check who books and pays for the rooms and which nights apply. If some guests stay elsewhere, add their transport plan to the comparison rather than treating it as a later detail.
Ask about the practical extras
Find out whether an indoor alternative, outdoor furniture, kitchen use, supplier setup, power and late departure carry extra charges. Discuss any required caterers and drinks arrangements. Get answers in the written proposal so the total reflects the day you are planning.
Keep the dates beside the figures
Rare Venues prices are collected listing figures, with their source date shown. They are useful starting points for enquiries. Save the venue’s current quote alongside them and compare the same hire period and inclusions before making a decision.
